Paradise Island
We all deserve to call ourselves Wonder Women.
Okay, guys, you don’t have to. But to all the ladies or those that identify as such, you absolutely deserve it. Career, family, living on our own. Doesn’t matter what your life looks like. Just know you are strong and are warriors of the planet. People forget we are all the embodiment of Diana Prince walking around and that any moment our magic lasso will get the truth and justice will be won.
Our time on Paradise Island – we are fighting for equality. I am fighting for you and for my own paradise.
Shortly after posting something about Paradise on another site, I was watching the Ellen DeGeneres show and a band came on literally singing about Paradise. I mean the timing blew my mind. Like 15 minutes apart. So I took it as a sign that I was on the right path of collectively, what we can do to stand up, be authentic and deal with all those that push back against us.
Another irony, I had intended to write this last week but because I waited for today, I am watching Wonder Woman 1984’s premier on HBO. I actually watched it on opening day on HBO Max. So if you have seen it already, well, I concur about the movie, but paradise was definitely found in the bonus clip during the closing credits. Still my favorite part of the whole movie. No spoilers though.
Anyway, for some during the pandemic, people stayed home long enough to find that home could be a paradise. Others spent a lot of time turning it into one. And for our essential workers, I hope you found a haven when you returned home. I’m sure you dreamed of your own paradise island either going home or an actual tropical island. Well, I guess we all dream of the tropical one.
If you follow the Wonder Woman movie franchise, in both movies and even the TV show and comic books, Paradise Island is a hidden island that is full of women who are warriors. They learn how to protect themselves and all that they share the island with. Each person on the island is valued, treasured and matters. For your own protection, being able to work together and in their case, sisterhood.
Paradise for me includes everyone to have the basics, security, clean and fresh environments, i.e. air, water. Plenty of access to healthy food, opportunities for fitness and feel safe in their own homes, neighborhoods and anywhere they go. Smiles for miles on each face I come across because things are manageable and fair.
Paradise doesn’t have to exclude others just so you can have one.
Wouldn’t more people having all that, then contribute to their happiness which in turn contributes to your own happiness. Waking up each day in the normal, average day filled with joy like you were on vacation on that island would be an amazing gift.
Contributing to a world that shares the beauty, splendor of a sunrise and sunset combined is one we all can aspire to. I don’t think we want to ever deprive anyone of God’s gifts so we should never want to deprive anyone of anything man made either.
Wishing for things usually involves a trade off at some point. When you wish for paradise, there are sacrifices that are made in the real world and a lot of hard work, a little luck and a plan to get there.
Learning how to pivot for your paradise is one way we can actually achieve it. Life is a series of choices and learning from the good and the bad, sharing the knowledge and embracing the opportunities that bring paradise island home to each of us.
